Born with pale, freckly skin and flaming orange hair, a career that involved spending 90% of the day in a dark room seemed like the perfect calling. After graduating from Auckland University in 2007 with honours, I did what many young kiwis do and jumped across the ditch to Australia. I spent a couple of years working and tasting wine in Adelaide before deciding to locum around Australia. Locumming took me to rural Australian towns that I never would have dreamed of visiting like Ararat, Charters Towers and Kalgoorlie. It was the yearning for greener pastures that drove us back to New Zealand and ultimately to Blur. These days don’t entail much travelling but our 3 mini Stu’s keep me very busy (All children are the spitting image of their father. I am just an incubator).
